Iran impressive shorts awarded in US

‘Retouch’ by Kaveh Mazaheri and ‘Lunch Time’ by Alireza Ghasemi have been granted two awards and honorary diplomas at the Ojai Film Festival in the US.

The two Iranian productions were honored at the festival’s 18th edition running November 2-12, 2017 in Ojai, California.

Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.

The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.

The American festival aims to provide audiences with opportunities to see groundbreaking work that would be otherwise inaccessible and provide filmmakers with an enthusiastic audience including film industry professionals.

Starting in the year 2000 the festival established itself in 2002 as an independent nonprofit foundation, dedicated to continuing and expanding the traditions created during the first two years of operation.
